Submit Green Ideas

Do you have a GREEN idea/event for the TCU campus?  We welcome your green ideas as TCU continues to progress toward a greener campus.  Here are some examples of green ideas already submitted.  Also, if you are hosting a GREEN event, please let us know and we will post it on our calendar.

Hire a campus sustainability coordinator – this is a position that many universities have created recently to address green issues.

Paper saving idea - “Provide University computer users with PDF creation software that can serve as a printer driver so that when users want to save an email or other printed documents, they could select the PDF driver instead of a printer, save the document as a PDF file, and then store on a network drive.  Ideally it would be nice to have software that pops up a dialog box asking to which electronic folder the document should be stored, the software I’ve been experimenting with works fine with a few extra clicks and some thought into file folder strategy.”

Energy saving idea - “The first is, what the heck is up with the escalators in the new book store????!!! They run ALL day while no one is one them or in there, then the run ALL night when NO ONE at all is in there. Just wondering who we could talk to about getting some sort of sensor installed to stop the things. Also, I’m upset that there isn't even the option to walk up stairs in there. I HAVE to take those contraptions.”
